| Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | Tampere University Foundation sr (Tampere University, TAU) published a Prior information notice 2021/S 066-170502 on the HILMA Portal TED of need of an automated slide scanner for academic research. Eight companies informed to have instrumentation to such needs and, each were given an hour to present their technologies in a Teams meeting to key people at the university: laboratory chief Anja Rovio, professor Steven Bova, researcher Tiia Nikupaavola and PhD student Aliisa Tiihonen. The presented technologies covered slide scanning from one end to the other, on construction, automation, digital capability, versatility of applications and intended main usage. • The selection criteria to fulfil all our needs for high-end academic work are listed below. • Slide scanner for BF, DF, Ph, pol and FL scanning, capacity of 210 slides (1”x3” slides) • Motorized polarization filter • Possibility to use 6 different objectives from 2x to 100x and supporting oil/silicone objectives (unique) • Automatic oil/silicone dispenser • BF and FL camera • Scan speed at least <80sec 20x 15x15 sample • Slide loader which can use 1”x3”, 2”x3”, 3”x4” and 4”x5” slide formats (unique) • Fluorescence imaging and deconvolution software • Additional scanning modes EFI, MIP and z-stack available for all imaging modes. • Batch scan can handle different tray formats and each slide scan settings can be defined • Objective resolution 20x/0.8, 40x/0.95 and 40x oil /1.40 • Fluorescence LED light source from 380-770nm • Fluorescence filters DAPI, CFP, FITC, Cy3, TxRed, Cy5, Cy7 • Possibility to scan combination of scanning techniques using the same camera • Bar code support • Hot-Swap function for continuous slide scanning and, also a priority scan feature • Automatic slide type recognition and detection. • Could handle and scan also broken slides and different size slides including regular, macro, and larger format slides • Second software license with deconvolution |
