Hankinnan lyhyt kuvausFinnGen is a public-private partnership research project coordinated by the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki. The overall aim of the FinnGen study is to combine genetic and electronic health record data to improve drug discovery. This is done by conducting multiple studies to identify genotype-phenotype associations in the Finnish founder population, which in combination with the extensive longitudinal registry data available on all Finns, will enable this. To determine the functional and metabolic consequences of Finnish enriched and disease-associated variants in the Finnish population, blood samples will be collected from FinnGen participants. Extensive biological data will be analyzed, including metabolomics data from human plasma. The object of the procurement is to profile the global metabolome of 1500 (and up to 2500) FinnGen human plasma samples in a non-targeted way that enables the detection of both known and novel metabolites for discovery purposes. The estimated total value for the analysis of 1500 samples is 250,000 EUR (excl. VAT). In the case of request for analysis of >1500 samples, and up to a maximum of 2500 samples, the price per sample shall not be higher than the price per sample agreed based on the 1500 samples. The maximum estimated total value for the analysis of 2500 samples shall not exceed 420,000 EUR (excl. VAT). The tender to be selected is the one that is most cost-effective and gets the highest score in technical terms and offered capacity when assessed using the criteria below: Price information 20 % Quality 80 % -Data quality (25 %) -Supplier’s credibility (15 %) -Turnaround time (10 %) -Coverage and discovery potential (30 %) SHIPPING OF SAMPLES Plasma samples in cryo-tubes (260uL) will be delivered in a 96-tube format in dry ice. Samples are coded with FinnGen ID, and a sample datasheet will be delivered electronically. The data will include sample ID, position, and volume. DELIVERY OF RESULTS Results should include at minimum the following information: (1) extensive annotation of detected and validated compounds (e.g., biochemical name, class, and subclass of known compounds, HMDB ID, etc.), (2) raw peak area data and full list of detected metabolites prior to any QC or normalization, (3) normalized/QCed peak area data with a clear description on how the data was processed. In addition, a release report with quality control (QC) procedures made to the data together with any relevant metadata required for interpretation or for archival purposes should be released together with the data. The supplier has to offer a reliable and secure solution for the delivery of the results to FIMM. The results and sample information should be stored for at least six (6) months by the supplier. The delivery term is DAP (Delivered At Place).
