| Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | Biomedical Unit/A.I.Virtanen Institute at the University of Eastern Finland will acquire a small animal PET/MRI system, operating at 7T or higher. System can be either based on existing 310 mm 9.4T magnet (Magnex Scientific Limited, 2004) or it can be a standalone PET/MRI system including also the magnet. The PET/MRI system will be the main instrument for PET/MRI and MRI in our imaging center, which currently serves as a national core facility for small animal MRI as well as for local core facility for small animal PET. Therefore, smooth transition to new system is essential. The main application areas currently are neuro and cardiac imaging; however, as a service facility there is need for all kind of imaging applications and technical support for rapid implementation and use of new methodology is of utmost importance. |
