Hankinnan lyhyt kuvausBackground: Aalto NeuroImaging (ANI) was established in 2013 to provide national, open-access functional human neuroimaging services at Aalto University, Finland, within its focus areas of health and wellbeing as well as neuroscience and neurotechnology. ANI is hosted and administrated by the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering. ANI offers a unique, research-dedicated environment for functional neuroimaging in Finland: magnetoencephalography (MEG) at MEG Core, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at Advanced Magnetic Imaging (AMI) Centre, navigated transcranial stimulation (nTMS) at Aalto TMS, and portable polygraphic monitoring methods at Aalto Behavioral Laboratory. ANI is one of Aalto University’s significant infrastructures. ANI is included on the Academy of Finland roadmap for research infrastructures 2014–2020 as a part of Euro-BioImaging (EuBI) Finland. ANI is also part of the Finnish Biomedical Imaging (FiBI) consortium offering MEG technology as its spearhead European-wide service for the recently proposed Finnish EuBI node. Our mission is to guarantee open access to the cutting-edge human neuroimaging technology. MEG upgrade: We need a critical upgrade of the MEG system at the MEG Core. The upgrade is urgent due to the approaching end of life of the current MEG system and it is thus essential (i) to ensure and enhance undisrupted use of the open-access, nation-wide collaborative platform at the unique, research-dedicated human neuroimaging centre, and (ii) to maintain and benefit from the unique expertise of the national research community that is a world-wide pioneering developer of MEG methods and applications. MEG Core plans to upgrade the existing MEG system with a state-of-the-art MEG system in 2021. Functional and technical requirements for the MEG system: - Simultaneous MEG and EEG recordings - 300 or more MEG channels - Continuous head position measurement - Continuous head movement compensation (offline) - Supine and upright measurement positions - 128 or more EEG channels - 12 or more bipolar channels - 16 or more triggering channels - 12 or more analog inputs - Both gradiometers and magnetometers - Noise level: average < 3.5 fT/Hz^½ (magnetometers) < 3.5 fT/Hz^½/cm (gradiometers) - Support for an optional active compensation system - State-of the-art MEG-compatible stimulators and monitoring devices Requirements for training: - 1 week on-site MEG training directly after installation - 1 week on-site follow-up training within 6 months after installation Requirements for approvals, sustainability and service contract: - FDA and European (CE) approvals - Zero-boil-off helium recovery system with a proven track record on several sites - Recycling of the old MEG system according to Finnish legislation - Service contract for 5 years - Local service contact with a next-working-day response time
