Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | The Protein Structure and Chemistry Core Facility, a member of the Biocenter Finland structural Biology FINSTRUCT infrastructure network and the INSTRUCT-FI national roadmap infrastructure of the Academy of Finland, supports high level research in Finland by providing open-access research services with state-of-the-art technologies for protein structural studies. The Core operates in Biocity Turku at the Turku Bioscience Centre, a shared department of the University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. In order to continue the research services, the Facility must replace the existing imaging detector to a new detector system. The existing instrument has become out-of-date. The HyPix-6000HE is a hybrid photon counting (HPC) X-ray area detector that utilizes the most superior technology for X-ray data-collection. ). By employing the HyPix-6000HE detector, data of the highest signal-to-noise ratio are collectible to the highest resolutions. Rigaku are the original manufacturers and installers in our Core Facility of the existing MM007-HF rotating anode X-ray generator and the special VariMax-HF arc)sec variable divergence X-ray optics systems. Thus, Rigaku are uniquely familiar with the existing equipment and full compatibility between the proposed new Rigaku upgrade equipment with the existing Rigaku systems is assured. Full compatibility therefore cannot otherwise be guaranteed. HyPix would be integrated with and become part of our X-ray data-collection system (Universal Goniometer, X-ray generator, optics and X-ray detector) whose parts cannot be replaced by any other device in order to meet the requirements that are necessary for the high-level research and services of the core facility. |
