| Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | The micro-XRF system will be used to map the elemental composition of samples. In a microscopy center environment, the micro-XRF must be a flexible system suited for analysis of varied samples including, but not limited to metals, semiconductors, glasses, geological samples, polymers and fragile biological samples. The capability to map the distribution of lighter elements is especially important to many fields of research in Tampere University. The system must be able to detect elements from carbon up to americium. Additionally the broad variety of sample types, shapes and surface topology requires that the instrument is capable to generate a micro-collimated X-ray beam with minimal divergency in combination with high X-ray flux in order to guarantee constant resolution over the entire mapped area. |
