| Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | Contracting entity: Energy systems, mechanical engineering, laser materials processing laboratory. Backround: In this procurement, a new 3D metal printer (PBF) will be acquired to the laser materials processing laboratory of the University of Vaasa. University of Vaasa would like to be active in metals 3D printing research developing additive metal applications. The new modern 3D printer will enable a research work related to whole printing process. Operation of the machine, actual printing and realization of the design for additive will give valuable knowledge to our students and staff members. Description of current state The Laboratory hasn't got any metal 3D printer. The new printer will allow the starting of additive activities. Description of the target state (Which needs should be fulfilled?) This new 3D printer comes to work in different kind of research activities. It needs to be able to print industrial quality parts to ensure accurate analyses of printed parts. Research is also focused to material property assessment and material behavior in printing stage. |
