| Hankinnan lyhyt kuvaus | This document concerns a potential future procurement regarding of a system that can obtain a vertical sound velocity profile on a moving vessel (Moving Profiler) for the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). GTK requests for information about currently on the market existing systems that would suit GTK’s concept and requirements, and also information about the preliminary pricing level of such offerings. GTK performs marine geological surveys in the Baltic Sea, in areas where water depth usually varies between 0-100m, with maximum depth of 300m. The surveys are usually single pass operations with different sonars operating simultaneously, including several towed instruments. The current measurement system used by GTK requires a full stop of the survey vessel in order to obtain the sound velocity profile. This operation is time consuming since it requires retrieval of all towed instruments and it will often reduce the profile spots at the beginning and at the end of the survey. GTK is operating a 20m long catamaran, R/V Geomari. Please, see the Information request (Appendix 1) for details. |
