Hankinnan lyhyt kuvausLuke is looking for a service provider for genotyping of rainbow trout individuals with a minimum of 20.000 SNP markers. The genotype data of individuals will be combined with their phenotypes to study, for example, the genomic inheritance of the fish traits, to determine genetic sex, and to perform genomic evaluations in selective breeding. To make powerful genomic analysis across generations and data sets, the genotype data produced by the service provider will be combined by Luke with the Luke's existing genotype data sets generated previously by AxiomTM Trout Genotyping Array (that has 57 501 SNP markers; 384 format). The samples sent to the service provider can be potentially used again by Luke in some future laboratory analysis, and hence they remain valuable for Luke even after the service providers has completed their analysis. -The SNP panel to be used by the service provider should have a minimum of 20.000 SNP markers to ensure a reasonable coverage of the trout genome. -Some of the SNP markers should be Y chromosome-specific SNPs near the sdY gene (male-specific in rainbow trout). -Most of the 20.000 SNP markers need to be a subset of the SNP markers in the AxiomTM Trout Genotyping Array which has 57,501 markers. -The data from the 20.000 markers needs to be equivalent with the data produced by the respective markers of AxiomTM Trout Genotyping Array. -Luke will send fin tissue samples of individuals to the service provider in QR and bar-coded tubes (very few are in well plates). The samples will be sent in batches of around 2000-5000 fish. Luke covers the shipment costs. The service provider will: -Extract DNA from the individual fin clips, -Generate SNP information on each fish, -Return the remaining tissue of each sample in the form of homogenate or the tissue itself in the individual QR coded tubes, -Cover the shipment costs of returning the samples, -Return all genotype data to Luke in a digital form. In the data, each sample has an individual code of the tube to which the individual's SNP data will be connected. Luke remains the owner of the data, and the service provider does not own the data. The genotyping will be done for a total of 20.000 individuals during 2.5 years from the start of the contract.
