Hankinnan lyhyt kuvausOULU AIRPORT Oulu airport is Finavia’s largest regional airport with ~630k passengers in 2022, still recovering and heading for 700k passengers in 2023, while the pre-covid level of passengers was 1m. Oulu Airport’s flights consist mainly of flights to Helsinki Airport, and there are some weekly charter flights to popular holiday destinations, as well. The passenger profile is rather business passengers heavy, both Finnish and international. Oulu-Helsinki flights have healthy demand, as ground transportation competes very little with flights with the distance of 600km, and because Oulu is the second largest city in Finland outside of the capital area with 210k people. Oulu Airport’s terminal is modern and exceptionally spacious. The premises being tendered at Oulu Airport consist of a primary airside restaurant and a secondary landside cafeteria, both equipped with kitchen facilities. The premises are spacious and at the prime locations covering a large portion of the overall terminal square meters. There is a smaller competing cafeteria at Oulu Airport, with a smaller airside waffle cafe, and a small landside self-service kiosk. Non-Schengen area does not have services, as flights outside of Schengen are rare. The vision for the premises is to surprise the customer positively with the variety and quality of the F&B offering, with a price level perceived providing high value for the money. The vision is to satisfy the customer with the smaller, yet important non-F&B product offering, as well. The atmosphere at the restaurant should be built on Finavia’s four customer experience pillars, while the service is of high quality from skilled and dedicated staff. In the vision, landside cafeteria also serves lunch. TURKU AIRPORT Turku Airport is one of Finavia’s mid-sized regional airports with ~130k passengers in 2022, still recovering and heading for ~190k passengers in 2023, while the pre-covid level of passengers was 450k in 2019. Turku Airport’s flights consists of network carrier flights to Helsinki, Stockholm, and Riga. There are also flights to Mariehamn, and a couple of destinations from the low-cost terminal. Turku is the third largest city in Finland outside of the capital area with 200k people offering strong demand for flights, but some of it leaks to Helsinki Airport by ground transport, as the distance is less than 2h by car or train. At the coastal Finland, it is characteristic to visit friends and relatives in Sweden, for which flights are the fast option, in addition to frequent but slow ferries. Turku Airport’s passenger are mainly business travellers, however low-cost flights can also provide leisure passengers, as well as commuting passengers depending on the destination in question. Turku Airport’s terminal is rather small and effective with a security check and gate-area at both, upstairs and downstairs. The premises being tendered at Turku Airport consist of relatively large landside cafeteria with kitchen facilities, a small cafeteria in the airside, as well as another small cafeteria in the low-cost terminal downstairs. The premises being tendered cover majority of the passenger area at Turku Airport, and there is no F&B competition. The vision for the premises is to surprise the customer positively with the variety and quality of the F&B offering, with a price level perceived providing high value for the money. The vision is to satisfy the customer with the smaller, yet important non-F&B product offering as well. The atmosphere at the restaurant should be built on Finavia’s four customer experience pillars, while the service is of high quality from skilled and dedicated staff. In the vision, landside cafeteria also serves lunch, which is supported by a strong existing client base.
