Hankinnan lyhyt kuvausThe subject of this call for tenders is four (4) high-quality growth cabinets for plants (eg. Arabidopsis, cereals, poplar saplings, strawberry, pine tree) for University of Helsinki. The growth cabinets will be acquired to Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki. In addition, four (4) growth cabinets are asked as option to Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. The option must be valid until December 2023. Specifications for the growth cabinets: Temperature control in the cabin: Temperature must be adjustable in the range starting from 2°C (+-1°C) to 45°C (+-1°C) with lights off and starting from 7°C (+-1°C) up to 45°C (+-1°C) with lights on. Lighting regime and quality: Light source should generate a homogenous light field for the whole growing area, at least for the needs of two growing layers in the cabin. Light sources should be white bi-phosphor LED and light intensity adjustable up to 800 µmol/m-2/s-1 at the level of the shelves, at 50 cm from the light source. The light spectrum should display a superior PAR radiation, and should include the essential far-red wavelengths between 700 nm and 780 nm. The lamp banks should have programmable settings with 1 % increments and lamps should be dimmable from c. 6 to 100 % and lights should have periodic programming in 1 min intervals in either Day/Night cycling or in elapsed time periods. Light banks should be placed horizontally above the shelves. Light banks and shelves can be re-positioned/removed without tools. Humidity control: Humidity should be able to be controlled from the chamber ambient up to 85 % and should be programmable. Cabinet size: The hall where these cabins will be placed, creates significant limitations for the cabin dimensions. A lay out scheme for the cabin locations is shown in appendix 1. In the hall there will be places for cabins having following approximate maximum outer dimensions: 105 cm (width) x 90 cm (depth) x 200 cm (height). (CO2 unit may be placed in the vicinity outside these dimensions) Growth compartment size: The growth area should be at least 1,3 m²; Growing height at least 50 cm with shelves but should be adjustable to 100 cm. Cooling: Will be joined to the facility’s water-cooling system but an emergency option for air-cooling is needed. Air-conditioning: Air-conditions should have an energy efficient condensing unity, and air flow should be horizontal and adjustable to best serve optimal plant growth. Shelves and their material, adjustability: At least two adjustable shelved of stainless steel wire shelves. The shelves should be easily adjusted and re-positioned without tools. Additional CO2 supply: CO2 sensor for programming and controlling the CO2 atmosphere in the chamber from ambient levels up to 2000ppm is needed at least in two of the chambers. The CO2 gas should be introduced so that it is circulated homogenously throughout the research area. The CO2 concentration should be programmable. The cabinets should be delivered tested and ready for use. The lay out for the hall is attached with the areas for the cabinets marked. appendix 1.
