"Tampere university foundation (Tampere University, TAU), has made a decision on direct acquisition of a haptic development environment with haptic force-feedback gloves (HaptX DK2). The chosen seller (Advanced Input Systems) has a technological lead in comparison to other providers of similar systems. The chosen software and hardware offers a wide range of possible uses and an unique mechanism of operation. Equally versatile development systems together with a high-performance equipment are not available from other providers. The HaptX gloves are the most advanced devices available on the market. Because our goal is to enable many different research directions, the versatility of the products was a main issue to evaluate in our market survey. Our conclusion was that only one provider can satisfy our needs. ",
