Turku Airport\u2019s flights consists of network carrier flights to Helsinki, Stockholm, and Riga. There are also flights to Mariehamn, and a couple of destinations from the low-cost terminal. Turku is the third largest city in Finland outside of the capital area with 200k people offering strong demand for flights, but some of it leaks to Helsinki Airport by ground transport, as the distance is less than 2h by car or train. At the coastal Finland, it is characteristic to visit friends and relatives in Sweden, for which flights are the fast option, in addition to frequent but slow ferries. Turku Airport\u2019s passenger are mainly business travellers, however low-cost flights can also provide leisure passengers, as well as commuting passengers depending on the destination in question.
