"The customized GWAS genotyping chips (FinnGen ThermoFisher Axiom custom array) used can only be purchased from the Life Technologies Europe B.V, as they have been custom-made by the Life Technologies Europe B.V based on FinnGen research project needs. In addition to the common variant backbone the chip contains targets for genotyping low frequency and rare coding variants that are enriched in Finland. These are in the very core of the FinnGen research project that aims to understand the contribution of this specific class of variants in disease mechanisms.
