As part of the Project, the existing trip stop system will be replaced with a continuous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) signalling system.",

"The train protection system to be procured requires the building of a new radio network for the data transmission between the train and wayside equipment. The radio network is a prerequisite of the future signalling system, and the new radio network needs to cater for its requirements as a minimum. It is also the intention of City Transport to use the radio network in the future to provide service to other metro systems including but not limited to the ones currently in use today.",
